As you can see theres no Gui yet cause I’m still working on the mechanics of the synth, but I won’t be verbally going through any of the features cause they’re not all finalized as yet,and also for other reasons.

Hi kids been quite a while since my last post, some good news for you>I’m busy building a new synth – yes brand new,not an update and I guarantee its gonna sound very cool and it will also be ‘free’.Its gonna be including about 4 oscillators and a few little tricks to set it apart from other synths in the same vein.

Can’t tell u the name jus yet cause in the past I was working on a synth which I had a name for already and posted news on its progress on my website before it was released.About 1 month later I saw someone else’s newly released synth with the exact same name of my synth in progress,oh well stupid me for posting the name of my synth b4 it was released!

That’l teach me”.

Came across this worthwhile sample pack whilst surfing the net called the ‘Hard & Bouncy Volume One’ from The Serious Sounds Network, now I’m never one to turn down royalty free sample packs cause I always need access to a big library of sounds, the more the better’.

So this is a pack of 500 samples in wav format and are all conveniently arranged in categories which makes life easier. So in the collection you’l get Hihats, Cymbals, FX, Acid, Donks, Hoovers, Claps, Snares, Stabs, Synths and more, and they even include the cd/cd case graphics – kool”.

I hav’nt listened to the pack yet but I’m sure it’l be good’.

Like always I’m offering my free soft synths and vst plugins, and the commercial sound banks which are available for projectx1, Arch Avenger Pro and the oddity.

A main feature of this new site is the social networking component, just signup and you’ll get you’re own profile, a facebook like wall where you can post updates, post and comment on you’re friends walls, send instant messages, upload you’re own avatar and more.

Click Here To Join the JC Productionz Community

Another very kool feature in the members area:

You can embed videos from the following sites:

YouTube
Vimeo
DailyMotion
blip.tv
Flickr (both videos and images)
Viddler
Hulu
Qik
Revision3
Scribd
Photobucket
PollDaddy
Google Video
WordPress.tv (only VideoPress-type videos for the time being)
SmugMug
FunnyOrDie.com

Just paste the video url into you’re status update, refresh the page and there it is.

I’m integrating new features all the time, especially focusing on the social network component at the moment.

The other day I was checking out my older vst plugin called xflanger (you can find out about it at JC Productionz if your not yet familiar with it,click the JC Productionz link in the Blogroll to the right). The original plugin had no automation support and no presets or support for them,I really wasn’t intending on updating this plugin so soon but I thought I’l jus add autmation support and some presets and leave it at that and not promote it.

So as what usually happens when I start tinkering with something,I could’nt stop fiddling with it and now I’ve been tweaking the gui with new knobs etc and if I do say so myself – its looking pretty spick!Cause of the amount of work I’ve accidently put in to this minor? update,I’l be doing an official release within the next 2 weeks when it will also become available for download”.

(no pic for the moment sorry)

In november of 2007 after getting back from a month in indonesia I’ve been finding it difficult to get back on track with getting some more vsti plugins out there, probably mainly cause of all the computer issues I’ve been having for eg. recently my sata hardisk packed it in totally and would’nt even spin up any more which was very strange.Damn thing took ALL of my audio work down with it and made me very sad,its failure had something to do with motherboard/cpu temperatures oddly enough.

But it was lucky that I build my synths/vst plugins on my internet drive which is located on a separate IDE drive,so very thankful for not losing that work.Things are getting much better now with the computer finally working nicely with a new sata hard drive.

The synth I’m working on is not too far from completion, but it’l be a kool little synth you’l want to get your hands on when it’s finished.

ProjectX1 is my new bass synth featuring some fat bottom end and urban bass sounds and many editing parameters all contained in a reasonable size synth, tried to condense everything so it would’nt take up too much of your screen area. This synth features subtractive,fm,phase distortion and unison synthesis. It’s basically a monophonic synth but has a pseudo stereo mode also and features 2 filters,2 adsr’s,mod envelope generator,2 modulation matrix’s with 24 possible destinations each and the source signals can also be inverted and more. There’s two effects types which are tube amp simulation which allows you to control gain, clip, speed, cap, bias, shape and mix and also a bit crusher with selectable modes of operation.
A unison oscillator has been added but the synth does not operate in unison mode. Peak follow is available and can grunge up the sound a bit more. Most of the knobs/sliders can be controlled via midi/host automation and there’s also dual waveshapers or assymetrical waveshaping for want of a better term.

Here’s a decent video tutorial I found on youtube for people who are new to vst plugins or are just having problems installing them. The author of the tut use’s flstudio as his application of choice but you can apply his guidelines to Your preferred music app(s)”.

Do you have what it takes to become the next most sought-after music producer in the industry? Or are you simply stuck on wishful thinking and hoping that you’ll be noticed one day?Music producers are the busiest pros behind the making of an artist and an album. There are many responsibilities that this guy needs to attend to. And he may be required to prove his worth not just through his musical prowess but also through education.Yes, a music producer needs education first and foremost to back up his talent. Though the younger generation of famous producers may not have degrees, still, they underwent training and workshops to establish themselves as pros in the industry.

Basic Requirements and Know-how’s

Being a good musician is one of the top requisites in order to become a music producer. Some are good at keyboards or piano, some excel in guitars and other string instruments, while others are geniuses of brass and percussions. It is also essential that a music producer has experience in performing, improvising and instrumentation, as well as production control particularly in arranging and recording of music compositions.

Types of Synthesizer Designs
By Victor Epand

There are three main synthesizer types. They are:

Analog synthesizers
Digital synthesizers
Software synthesizers

Each synthesizer is classified according to the method of sound creation. Synthesizers that use a mixture of all these three are also available in modern market. These types are called hybrid synthesizers. Modern synthesizers vary significantly in their working method, potential, dimension and outlook. In the majority of the synthesizers the output is required to be passed through the speaker, or an external amplifier and loudspeakers to convert it into sound.

Format and Types of Synthesizers Designs.

Analog Soft Synths:
When a harmonically rich waveform (Saw, Rectangle, Square, and Triangle) is generated by an oscillator, then the filters or cuts away part of the sound is outputted in a thorough fashion with filters and envelopes. This is the mechanism of Soft Synths.

FM Synths:
Frequency Modulation works in a way where instead of subtracting from a large waveform, the synthesis is started by using several Sine Waves (operators and carriers) at user selectable frequencies and then patched them in various ways to come up with tones.

Apart from these there are others like:

Wavetable and Linear Algorithmic Synths
Sample Playback Soft Synths
Hybrid Physical Modeling Soft Synths
Hybrid and Abstract Synths

Emulator is one common type. There used to be quite a variety but manufacturers have stopped making them in a lot. Purchasing old and second hand stuff is a viable option as the unused first hand products can be expensive and unpredictable. The emulation or the copy exact types offer having graphics that model the exact user interface of controls. Popular synthesizers, for example, the Minimoog and Yamaha DX 7 have emulators.

Some software synthesizers are more of sample based. Computers, generally, have fewer restrictions on its memory or RAM than dedicated hardware synthesizers. Some of these sample based synthesizers come with sample libraries, which can weight up to GBs or giga bytes. Some of these are exclusively drafted to imitate real world instruments such as pianos. Many sample libraries are available in a Windows, IBM common format like WAV or Waveform audio format files, and can be worked with almost any sampler based softsynth.

The newer and recent versions of softsynths are designed to be compatible with technology such as Virtual Studio Technology (VST), which allow other music programs to interface with the softsynth. Plug in technologies include DXi, VST, Motu Audio System (MAS), Real Time AudioSuite (RTAS), Audio Units (AU).

Common Types of Synthesizers Designs

Most of the professional software synthesizers come with a high price tag, but given the works they can put up in real time or 1.5x real time with good hardware. These prices can be termed justified. Reality(TM) Professional Music Synthesis Software, VirSyn Software Synthesizer, Reaktor, Generator are to name a few mid range Software Synthesizers. However some free to try and freeware are out there also. Adder, Crusher X Live 3.42, Drums, Digitonix Element, Ethereal, FlexiMusic Composer, FlexiMusic Generator, SequBeat, Space Station Pro are also there. There are a number of Demos or Demonstration programs available in the market. The manufacturers give the users chance to get acquainted with the programs before they try.
